Goodbye but not forever

Well I've been pretty negligent with this blog. It's always sad to see blogs die and mine didn't seem to last too long... However I've decided to start a new one in conjunction to a new site I'll be making. I'll add the link once I've started it.

AGES

Okay okay so I know its been so long since I updated but with the holidays who really has time to blog (many people actually....) alright alright i was just lazy. Anyways! CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE! YAY! I love the holidays, something about giving gifts you've worked so hard to make special or buy especially for someone you care about really makes me happy. Well after many trips to different malls and online shopping I think I've got all my gifts to give. Well since I've never really done stocking stuffers before I decided this year I'd do it for a very special person. I decided to buy a few san-x stationery stuff and candy of course. While browsing through Kinokuniya bookstore I found the cutest bear that I really want for Christmas. He is Rilakkuma the cutest lazy bear I've ever seen. Well I've always been a fan of this bear I've never seen this design before since it was the 5th anniversary design and wouldn't you know it he's dressed in royal attire. Adorable no?
Well sadly I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get this bear since he's $50. Who knew a lil thing like him could be so expensive (side note: this bear is slightly smaller then a normal teddy bear). It's so sad! Oh well we can't all get what we want for Christmas! We'll see maybe I'll sew my own cute character sometime. Well I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. Tonight I'll be celebrating Christmas with someone very special so I'll update on the gift giving and Christmas light viewing very soon!

GOODNESS

Wow it sure has been a while since I posted anything... yes yes sadly I left my blog alone for a while because of the holiday (about a month? hahaha lets say I like to celebrate). Well today I decided to share a video that I really like although it tends to become repetitive after a while but I still like the motion graphics a lot. The song is Une very stylish fille by Dimitri from Paris. Enjoy!

Yes I am a very stylish boy hahahaha (though I would say girl eh?)

ON ANOTHER NOTE...
Well lately I've been sewing a lot and if you don't know it already sewing isn't an easy task especially when its clothing (well at least it's hard for me since I haven't sewn much...). Overall it's really fun even if it is kinda difficult. Well when I get a chance I'll show you what I've been making. O I've also been working on a few accessories although they aren't perfect but I think they're really pretty. Well it's time to go but hopefully you guys enjoy the video.

MONDAY

Oh Monday....
I feel so tired and oh so not productive... but I figured I would post at least one thing today. So while browsing through sites and magazines I remembered seeing a really interesting illustration by illustrator Raquel Aparicio. I have to say... I've always been fond of illustrators seeing how I use to want to be one when I was a little kid. Although my major wasn't illustration I still like to do a little of it when I can. Anyways back to Raquel Aparicio, she's done work for many magazines some including the NYLON, The New York Times, and Elle Magazine. Her illustrations mainly feature females and animals. I love her use of color and specifically love her work for a water calendar. You can check out more of her work here.

Here's the calendar I really like. I wish I could get my hands on this. Hope you enjoy this artist and this very boring Monday, until later!

Font Friday (Thursday)

Well as some of you may know my birthday is on Halloween which happens to be on Friday. Since I most likely won't be at my computer tomorrow (woot woot raise the roof... lol some of you kiddies might not remember that one) I decided I'd update tonight. Well today I call this Font Friday. Lately I've really been enjoying the look of serif fonts and my favorite so far is Inflex Mt Bold. I was introduced to this lil beauty by my boss when we were looking at the new Rock & Republic site and I wondered what font they used for their typography. I decided I'd share it with all of you. Although this font isn't new I think it's one of those fonts you just kind of forget about since serif fonts tend to have a very old stuffy feel. I like to think of serifs as those old friends with a lot of character. Serif fonts can work beautifully with San-Serifs giving your work a bit of a retro modern look, or use a beautiful script font to get a very elegant look. I love the look of bold fonts and this is just another one you can use instead of just sticking to the basic bold Helvetica. I say give it a try, it may not be your cup of tea but it sure is mine.
